Family & Couple Integration

Supporting recovery beyond the individual.

When clinically appropriate, Heroic Path incorporates supportive partners and family members into the treatment process. Strengthening communication, education, and support systems can significantly enhance recovery outcomes for many adults.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

A short-term, attachment-focused model that helps couples and families strengthen emotional bonds, repair relational ruptures, and improve emotional communication patterns.

EFT-informed interventions are used to support emotional connection and reduce relational stressors that may contribute to symptom maintenance.

A relational approach that examines how family interaction patterns may influence eating disorder or trauma symptoms. Treatment focuses on improving communication, restructuring roles, and fostering more adaptive support patterns.

Systemic perspectives guide case conceptualization and family sessions when relational dynamics are impacting recovery progress.

Integrates cognitive-behavioral skills within the couple relationship to improve problem-solving, reduce conflict, and reinforce recovery-supportive behaviors.

CBCT strategies may be incorporated to strengthen partner support and improve recovery-aligned communication patterns.

Structured education and coaching for families and partners to increase understanding of eating disorders and trauma, reduce stigma, and strengthen relapse-prevention support at home.

Psychoeducation is provided throughout treatment to help families understand recovery needs and support sustainable progress after discharge.

Family and couple involvement is thoughtfully individualized based on each client’s clinical needs, preferences, and treatment goals.
